SIA CCTV Course in Canary Wharf

The SIA CCTV course in Canary Wharf runs for three days, from 9am to 6pm, at our centre about a minute from Crossharbour DLR. It prepares you for the Level 2 CCTV Operator award, the qualification you need to apply for an SIA CCTV licence.

Why Canary Wharf suits CCTV training

The office towers on the Isle of Dogs, the shopping malls beneath them and the transport links serving tens of thousands of workers each day are all watched by licensed CCTV operators. If you already work in security, a CCTV licence lets you move between front of house and the camera desk.

What the course covers

• The law that applies to public space surveillance, including data protection and the CCTV codes of practice
• How operators work with police, site security and emergency services
• Control room procedures, communication and record keeping
• Practical use of the equipment, including tracking people and incidents across cameras

No experience is needed, and exams are taken at the centre.

Renewing a door licence as well

If you already work as a door supervisor and your licence is due, the Door Supervisor refresher and CCTV bundle in Canary Wharf renews it and adds a CCTV qualification in the same week. The centre also runs the one-day Emergency First Aid course.
