SIA Door Supervisor Course in Birmingham

Our SIA Door Supervisor course in Birmingham runs over six days, Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 6pm, at our centre in Shirley, Solihull (B90). The Emergency First Aid course is included on the first morning, and you sit every exam at the centre.

Why train in Solihull

Getting into Birmingham city centre every morning for six days takes time and money. Our Shirley centre is a shorter, simpler trip for many people across the West Midlands. M42 Junction 4 is minutes away and there is parking on site. It suits learners from Solihull, Shirley, Hall Green, Acocks Green, Sparkhill, Olton, Knowle and Dorridge in particular.

Work across the West Midlands

Birmingham's night time economy keeps door staff busy. Broad Street is lined with bars and clubs, Digbeth's music venues run all year, and the NEC and Resorts World need event staff throughout the exhibition calendar. Shopping centres such as the Bullring and Touchwood in Solihull employ security teams too, and a Door Supervisor licence covers guarding as well as door work.

The six days

• The private security industry: the law, licensing and emergency procedures
• The door supervisor role: searching, refusing entry, licensing law and safeguarding
• Conflict management and how to calm situations down
• Physical intervention, taught with safety as the priority
• Emergency First Aid, taught as a half-day session on the morning of day one

You need to be 18 or over with the right to work in the UK. No experience is needed. Bring photo ID and two proofs of address dated within the last three months on day one.

Renewing later

When your licence is due for renewal, the Door Supervisor refresher in Birmingham runs at the same centre. The centre also runs a one-day Emergency First Aid course in Birmingham. See our Birmingham centre page for details.
