SIA Door Supervisor Course in Aldgate

Our SIA Door Supervisor course in Aldgate runs for six days, Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 6pm, at the centre on Osborn Street where Brick Lane meets Whitechapel High Street. The Emergency First Aid course is part of it, and you sit every exam at the centre.

Where the work is

Brick Lane, Spitalfields and Shoreditch are full of bars, clubs, markets and late licence venues, and the City next door adds corporate events, hotels and office security. Much of this work is filled through local agencies and venue managers. Training here puts you in the middle of it, and a Door Supervisor licence also lets you take guarding shifts in the offices and shops around Aldgate.

How the six days work

You study the four SIA units for door supervisors: working in the private security industry, the door supervisor role, conflict management and physical intervention. Emergency First Aid is taught on day one, as a half-day session in the morning, so the training covers every certificate the licence application needs. Each day is compulsory because the SIA sets minimum training hours.

Is it right for you?

You need to be 18 or over with the right to work in the UK. No security experience is needed, because the course is designed for people starting from scratch. Bring photo ID and two proofs of address dated within the last three months on day one.

Getting here

Aldgate East is seconds from the door on the District and Hammersmith & City lines. Aldgate is a short walk for the Circle and Metropolitan lines, and Liverpool Street and Whitechapel have the Elizabeth line. Read more about the centre on the Aldgate page, where you can also book Door Supervisor and Security Guard refreshers.
