Booking the courses one at a time means a second payment, a second week off and a second set of joining instructions. The bundle removes all of that.
A Door Supervisor licence covers front-line and guarding roles. A CCTV licence covers control rooms and monitoring suites. Holding both gives you more choice of shifts and employers.
Everything below is included. Nothing is charged separately.
Payment: £150 deposit to book, £400 at the centre on day one.
Week 1, Monday to Saturday: Door Supervisor with first aid
Day one opens with your Emergency First Aid session in the morning (CPR, defibrillator, choking, bleeding, shock and burns). The rest of day one and days two and three cover the industry, the law and the role: licensing law, health and safety, searching and consent, refusals and reasonable force, drugs awareness, safeguarding and working with the emergency services. After that, day four moves on to conflict management, spotting triggers early and de-escalating before anything turns physical. Physical intervention follows on day five, covering the legal framework, positional asphyxia, disengagement, low-level holds and team intervention. Finally, day six is revision and your exams.
Week 2, Wednesday to Friday: CCTV Operator
The CCTV week opens with working in the private security industry as it applies to surveillance. Because this overlaps with Door Supervisor Unit 1, bundle learners start already ahead. Next comes the role itself: operator responsibilities, codes of practice, data protection and surveillance law, control-room communication, emergency procedures and system components. The final day is practical, so you operate cameras and control systems, track and record, keep logs and produce evidence to standard. Revision and exams then close the course.
The SIA sets minimum contact hours for both qualifications, which is why attendance on all nine days is mandatory.
465 Bethnal Green Road sits toward the eastern end of the high street. Bethnal Green station on the Central line is a short walk, one stop from Liverpool Street and running straight out through Stratford, Leyton, Leytonstone and Woodford to Essex. Bethnal Green Overground is on the road itself, Cambridge Heath is close by, and buses run the length of Bethnal Green Road.
Shoreditch and its nightlife cluster are minutes to the west. The City boundary is just beyond. Hackney and the Lea Valley add warehouse, retail and site security to the north, and Stratford, with Westfield, the Olympic Park and the control rooms that serve them, is two stops east on the Central line.
With the Door Supervisor licence: pubs, bars and nightclubs, hotels and members’ clubs, concerts, festivals and stadiums, retail and shopping centres, construction gates, corporate reception. It also covers Security Guard roles, which a Security Guard licence does not do in reverse.
With the CCTV licence: control rooms at shopping centres, transport interchanges, local authority monitoring suites, housing estates, corporate campuses and event operations centres.
With both licences you can apply for door, guarding and control room jobs, and take shifts in either.
You need to be 18 or over with the right to work in the UK. Bring photo identification and two proofs of address from the last three months.
No previous security experience is required. The SIA runs its own criminal record checks once you apply, and anyone who has spent six continuous months or more outside the UK in the last five years will need overseas checks too.
Attendance across all nine days is mandatory.
Confirmation and joining instructions arrive by email straight away. Call 020 8050 4108 if you need a specific week.
Once you pass, apply for both licences through the SIA licence application service. You can apply for both at the same time. If you already hold one SIA licence, the SIA may charge a reduced fee for the second. Approval takes up to eight weeks. We also recommend the free ACT counter-terrorism e-learning, which you complete on the ProtectUK website. Our ACT training guide explains how.
Already hold a Door Supervisor licence? Book the standalone SIA CCTV course instead. Or browse our full range of security courses.
1. How much is the SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV Course London bundle? £550 in total: £150 deposit to book, £400 at the centre on day one. That includes everything: both qualifications, first aid, all exams and three certificates.
2. Is the bundle cheaper than booking the two courses separately? Yes. The bundle price is lower than the standalone Door Supervisor and CCTV courses combined, and you make one booking rather than two.
3. How are the nine days scheduled? Door Supervisor runs Monday to Saturday. CCTV runs Wednesday to Friday of the following week. Both are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so the whole bundle is finished within two weeks.
4. Can I do the CCTV course first? The bundle runs Door Supervisor first, then CCTV. If you already hold a Door Supervisor licence, book the standalone CCTV course.
5. Do I need first aid for the CCTV licence? No. First aid is needed for Door Supervisor and Security Guard licences, not CCTV. It is included in the bundle.
6. Do I have to apply for both licences? No. You can apply for one or both. If you already hold one SIA licence, the SIA may charge a reduced fee for the second.
7. When do I get my results? Normally two to three weeks after your exams. Delays at the awarding bodies can make it longer, so we cannot promise an exact date.
About the course
Two qualifications back to back at the same centre: the Level 2 Door Supervisor award, with Emergency First Aid on day one, then the Level 2 CCTV Operator award. Pass both and you can apply for two SIA licences.
