Door Supervisor Refresher and CCTV Course Bundle in Bethnal Green

Your refresher is a weekend. Add three midweek days of CCTV and you can apply for a second licence while you renew the first. Two refresher days and three CCTV days make five in total, all at 465 Bethnal Green Road, for £430. On their own, the Bethnal Green refresher costs £210 and the CCTV course £250.

Why add CCTV while you’re renewing

Weekend, then midweek

Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 6.30pm	Door Supervisor refresher. The first half of the first refresher day is Emergency First Aid. Then Unit 1 (search procedures, vulnerability, spiking, terror threat awareness) and Unit 2 (physical intervention refresher)
Wednesday to Friday, 9am to 6pm	Level 2 CCTV Public Space Surveillance, Units 1 to 3: the industry and the law, the operator role and data protection, then live camera and control room practice. There is no first aid in the CCTV part

You can take the two parts in either order. Every date listed here begins with the refresher on a Saturday, so if CCTV first suits you better, ring us and we will set it up.

In the price

The two qualifications, half a day of Emergency First Aid, the self-study pack for the refresher, mock papers, every exam and practical assessment, and both certificates. You pay nothing extra for exams or certificates.

Where you’ll train

465 Bethnal Green Road, E2 9QW, a short walk from Bethnal Green station on the Central line, one stop from Liverpool Street. Shoreditch’s late-licence venues and the City’s control rooms are a few minutes west, so work for both licences is close by.

Where the two licences take you

With the door licence renewed you can carry on at the doors of Shoreditch and Hackney, or work in hotels, events and retail, and Security Guard roles are still open to you. The CCTV licence opens control room work in corporate campuses, council monitoring suites, transport hubs and housing estates. Door work means standing, late finishes and plenty of weekends. Control room work is desk-based and more often salaried. Hold both and you choose.

Before you book

• Your SIA Door Supervisor licence is current, or ran out no more than three years ago. Never held one? Start with the SIA Door Supervisor Course in Bethnal Green
• You are 18 or over and allowed to work in the UK
• You can show photo ID and two proofs of address dated within three months
• You hold the ACT Awareness and ACT Security certificates. Both are free on ProtectUK, and our ACT training page walks you through them
• You finish the refresher self-study pack before the refresher starts. It comes by email once you have booked

Booking

Pick a start weekend, press Book and give your name, email and mobile. You pay £150 online by card, and the confirmation and joining instructions come through straight away. Five days cost £430 altogether: £150 deposit to book, £280 at the centre on day one. Day one is the first day of whichever part you begin with.

Ring 020 8050 4108, Monday to Saturday, to hold a particular weekend or to have a First Aid certificate checked. Phone bookings are paid through a secure link we email to you, as card details are never taken by phone.

Once you pass, put the renewal and the CCTV application in on the same day through the SIA licence application service, so the second one is cheaper. The SIA can take up to eight weeks, so apply well before your current card runs out.

FAQs

How early should I take the refresher?

Four to five months before your licence expires. You can apply up to four months early, SIA approval can take eight weeks, and you cannot work on an expired card.

My licence ran out a while ago. Is it too late?

Not if it expired within the last three years. The SIA accepts a renewal at any point before expiry and for up to three years afterwards.

Can I take the CCTV half at another centre?

The bundle price ties both halves to Bethnal Green. For CCTV elsewhere, call us and we will quote the two courses separately.

What should I bring?

Your SIA licence, the ACT certificates, the finished self-study workbook, photo ID and the two proofs of address. Bring a First Aid certificate too if you already hold one, and wear clothes you can move in.

How long do results take?

Usually two to three weeks, sent by email. The awarding bodies sometimes take longer, so we can’t name the day. Your SIA applications can go in as soon as they arrive.
