Practise for the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment, the qualification you need with the CITB test for a green CSCS labourer card. 30 questions with every answer explained.
Our practice format. The real Level 1 Award is assessed by a multiple choice exam or a portfolio, depending on the awarding body.
Each attempt picks a new set of questions from a bank of 60, so you can practise as often as you like.
A near miss is an unplanned event that could have caused injury or damage but did not. It should still be reported so the cause can be dealt with.
Asbestos waste is hazardous waste. It must be sealed in suitable labelled packaging and taken by a registered waste carrier to a site permitted to accept it.
Holding the load close to the waist reduces the strain on your back. The further a load is from your body, the more stress it puts on your spine.
Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to employees and anyone else affected by the work.
HSE guidance is about 75 degrees, which is one unit out at the base for every four units up. This is often called the 1 in 4 rule.
Injuries at work should be recorded in the accident book. The record helps your employer find out what went wrong and decide whether it must be reported under RIDDOR.
The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 require your employer to provide suitable PPE. Section 9 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 means you cannot be charged for it.
If conditions do not match the method statement, the planned controls may no longer work. Stop and report it so the task can be reassessed before anyone carries on.
The question bank has 60 questions across these topics. Every attempt mixes them at random.
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is one unit with five learning outcomes. It is designed for new starters, so the questions are practical: what you should do, what you should check, and who you should tell.
